The statement reads as follows:
"Ajax Amsterdam will not permit liquidation of Ajax Cape Town.
"Ajax Amsterdam, who owns 51% of the shares of Ajax Cape Town, is outraged about the allegations, published in South African media. The majority shareholder will not permit liquidation of Ajax Cape Town as apparently envisaged by Cape Town Stars. It is common knowledge that the two families who own Cape Town Stars, owner of 49% of the shares, have a conflict.
"Ajax Amsterdam is convinced that there is no ground for liquidation. In addition, the club supports the players, the staff and all the other employees in Cape Town.
"Ajax Cape Town is doing well and the majority shareholder has faith in their CEO, George Comitis.
"Ajax Amsterdam in combination with Ajax Cape Town will do everything in its power to ensure the club in Cape Town remains a reliable and valuable member of the South African football fraternity."
