Mngqithi took charge of the Abafana Bes'thende for his second spell after Muhsin Ertugral had quit his post.

Mngqithi's first game in charge resulted in a 2-0 win over Chippa United, the team that had earlier sacked him.

However, he lost the next two matches 3-1 to Kaizer Chiefs and 1-0 to Maritzburg United, which leaves Arrows just two points above the relegation zone.

But Tom is backing Mngqithi to transform their season, saying: "Since Manqoba's return the mood in the camp has been all right, there is renewed belief that things will go well for us again.

"We're glad he's back because the players now feel free to express themselves and he's a hard-working person.

"If we can just take our chances during games we will do much better. We weren't supposed to lose (on Saturday) because Maritzburg had only one clear chance from which they scored, but we had several we didn't take.

"We weren't lucky but I'm confident it will come right," Tom concluded.
