Having booked a spot in the semi-finals of the Telkom Knockout last weekend, Siwele were brought down to earth on Wednesday in Pietermaritzburg.

A brace from Cuthbert Malajila helped Maritzburg United to a 2-1 come-from-behind win over Phunya Sele Sele at the Harry Gwala Stadium.

Usuthu, meanwhile, picked up a vital three points with a 1-0 victory over the high-flying University of Pretoria at King Zwelithini Stadium last time out.

The midweek triumph, only their second in the PSL this season, moved the Durbanites off the bottom of the Premiership table and up to 14th position.

But AmaZulu's Thamsanqa Teyise believes the weekend's trip to the Free State will be anything but a walk in the park.

"It's not easy to win in Bloemfontein, but it's also not impossible," the defender told Backpage TXT. "We'll go there and work as a team and try to create scoring chances as we did on Wednesday.

"We know that Celtic are coming from a loss so we are expecting them to come out strongly, but we're really focused on our own game and how we can improve from the last game."

Meanwhile, Celtic striker Lennox Bacela reckons it will take a collective effort to secure a much-needed league win for Clinton Larsen's side

He explained: "It's difficult to know what to expect because AmaZulu have been changing their team, especially their defence, but what we need to do is improve on our composure in front of goals and not worry too much about the opposition.

"The coaches have also been working on our defending which is not only the duty of the defenders but the team as a whole so I'm sure things will improve in the next couple of games,"

In head-to-head stats, Celtic and AmaZulu have met in 42 league matches since 1985. The Free Staters have claimed 16 wins compared to 11 for Usuthu, while there have been 15 draws.
