Usuthu picked up a vital three points with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the University of Pretoria at King Zwelithini Stadium.

The midweek triumph moved the Durbanites off the bottom of the Premiership table and up to 14th, ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns and Chippa United.

"I think everything came together nicely from defence to offence and we dominated most of the game," Palmgren said in his post-match summation.

"Our commitment was excellent and we never gave up.

"We should have sealed the game earlier, we had a lot of good chances, we hit the post twice, but on the other hand when you apply as much pressure as we were the opposition do end up making a mistake."

Wednesday's win was only Usuthu's second of the PSL season, but Palmgren claims to have never been too concerned at their form or league standing.

"I never look at the log, but I'll be having a look at it now," the Swede added. "But on a serious note, there's a lot of happiness to take out of this match.

"We always had a good mood in the team, it's been something we've worked hard on despite the results. So this is a result that shows how hard work pays off."
