Baxter: Hard man to please

Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter was happy to have added three points to their tally on Tuesday, but warns his players they face the hair-dryer treatment for their performance.

Amakhosi romped to a 3-0 victory over Golden Arrows to climb six points clear at the top of the PSL standings, although Baxter appears a hard man to please after criticising his team's play on the night.

"I am pleased with the result but the players will have a lot to answer about their performance," Baxter told his club's official website.

"I thought we started well, opening them up, creating quite a number of chances. There were, however, too many lapses of concentration.

"I think we should have scored more goals in the first half and we should not have put ourselves in a situation where we go to half-time leading 1-0.

"Golden Arrows came strongly in the start of second half up until we introduced Kingston (Nkhatha). We then scored the two goals that sealed the game for us. I am happy with the win but I will have to speak to the players."

The Englishman was, however, pleased with the progress his strikers have made, with Nkhatha netting a brace in the absence of the Premiership's top scorer Bernard Parker, while Lehlohonolo Majoro was on target for the opener.

The coach added: "We have a healthy competition up front. I am of course pleased for Kingston Nkhatha following what he has gone through in the past couple of weeks. He has worked very hard.

"I was also happy with K's (Kaizer Motaung Jr) contribution. We still have Sthe (Sthembiso Ngcobo) who did not play a part in this game so is Bernard Parker who was injured.

"This gives a coach a nice headache especially if the strikers are scoring goals."
