Amakhosi put Abafana Bes'thende to the sword as they fired three unanswered goals past hapless Latvian goalkeeper Pavels Steinbors to stamp their authority in the PSL.

Mathoho, who scooped the Man of the Match award, told Football411 that Chiefs were full value for their win.

"I think we played a very good game and we deserved to win the match. I'm not saying we are a perfect team, but we are a good team. It is good to see we are getting better and better," Mathoho told this site.

One of the stand-out departments for Chiefs this season has been their impressive defensive set-up, which has kept five clean sheets in nine matches, conceding a mere four goals.

And 22-year-old Mathoho has put it all down to a better understanding in the rearguard.

"I think the biggest factor has to be the communication amongst the defenders," he added. "I believe we are talented defenders, but we look even better when we are constantly talking in the field.

"I think that is the reason that we are able to keep clean sheets this season," he concluded.
