The 22-year-old Ghanaian attacker had to be substituted in his side's Coupe de la Ligue defeat to Paris St Germain on Wednesday night but it has since been revealed he suffered just minor "cuts and a knock" to his foot.

As a result, Ayew will be available for his side's match with Ajaccio this weekend.

The news is also welcomed by Ghana's Black Stars who head to South Africa to take part in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in February.

OM have struggled in recent weeks, losing their last three matches, although they remain third in the standings.

And ahead of their next match striker Loic Remy, who is yet to score this season, is hopeful his side can bounce back to winning ways.

He said: "My first job is to serve the needs of the team and I know that in some games there is no choice, you must help your team-mates defend.

"It is not ideal as an attacker but on Sunday in Corsica we have the chance to bring an end to this run."
