Phunya Sele Sele have never won the prestigious tournament while their opponents are the holders, having beaten Bidvest Wits in last year's final.

In fact, the last time Celtic won any silverware was in 2005 when they claimed the SAA Supa 8 Cup.

Siwelele do, however, come into the game buoyed by the recent memory of having beaten Roger De Sar's charges in the Premier Soccer League earlier this season.

And defender Thabo Nthethe feels they can repeat that performance, telling SuperSport: "We definitely think it can happen again. We just have to oppose them.

"It all depends on us and how we do on the day. We want to go further than this round.

"It is going to be a tough game because they are the defending Champions, but we are ready. We know what to do and we know they are a tough opponent."

De Sa's only defeat as Bucs boss came at the hands of Celtic and he is determined to make amends for that result.

He added: "We have been doing ok since I arrived taking into consideration that the Bloem Celtic league match is the first loss we have experienced since I arrived.

"We are a bit disappointed with the draw against AmaZulu last weekend at home, but this is a completely different competition and we are looking forward to this obstacle over the weekend and Celtic at home will always provide a challenge.

"Hopefully this weekend we can get back to our usual selves because the 1-0 loss in Bloem was a bit harsh for us because we did not deserve to lose that game.

"I just hope we can improve and come out on top."
