The former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates striker joined the Dube Birds in 2009 and at age 35 he was expected to retire soon, but Swallows club manager Sipho Xulu confirmed otherwise.
"We are very happy with what Nomvethe has done for the team, he has been a team player, a true professional on and off the field. Hence, we needed to keep him. He's been loyal to us, and we needed to be loyal to him too," he told Goal.
Nomvethe scored against Ajax Cape Town and the University of Pretoria in their first league matches of 2013 to give his side a valuable point in each game as they aim to qualify for the top eight position.
The Birds are 11th on the PSL standings with 22 points.
