Tembu Royals are an unknown quantity and despite this, Rosslee fielded a team of players that have hardly seen first-team action.

Usuthu are the third Premier Soccer League team to be beaten in the Nedbank Cup, with Orlando Pirates having been humiliated by Safa Second Division side Maluti FET College, while Chippa United went down to United FC.

AmaZulu are also currently in the PSL relegation zone and prior to the match Rosslee said they needed to win in order to keep on playing and staying match fit.

However, the former Ajax Cape Town gaffer's plans are now ruined and he had praise only for midfielder Joseph Malongoane.

He hinted that the player might see more game time as they battle to get out of 15th place with 11 games to go.

"I think everybody, who saw this match will agree that we were pathetic. We just did not play good football. I think we somehow underrated the opposition team so much that we allowed them to come at us," Rosslee told Goal.

"Hitting the goal post is not enough, I am tired of being close to scoring. I mean if we want to win games we need to score goals and this was just a good wake up call for us, that yes, we still have a problem when it comes to scoring.

"Joseph played well as he showed that he really wanted to win this match. The problem is that he could not have done it alone. I wanted to use this match as a way of giving my players a chance and showing them that I believe in them, especially the new signings.

"Going into the league, I am sure Malongoane deserves to be given more opportunities, when our main starting eleven comes back.

"We have a long way to go in the league, there is still a lot of work ahead of us. I am hoping that we will bounce back strong in the PSL as some of our players that will be making a return to the squad will be fresh."
