Pirates were handed a 4-1 football lesson from Maluti FET College, who play in three tiers below the Premier Soccer League, on Saturday.

Klate was not part of the team that lost to the minnows and insists that Bucs will now give all their focus to defending the PSL title and the African Champions League.

The Buccaneers are second on the Premiership standings with 40 points, two less than leaders Kaizer Chiefs, with a game in hand.

They take on Moroka Swallows in a league clash on Tuesday evening and a win could see them overtake their arch-rivals at the top.

"We have two major trophies to fight for... the league race is still wide open and we have a great chance of defending the title," Klate told the club's website.

"We also have the African Champions League competition in which we will also have to do well so right now we cannot afford to lose focus," said the five-time PSL league winner.

"In football strange things have happened, so we cannot lose focus over what happened over the weekend."
