Moroka Swallows captain Lefa Tsutsulupa says a win in the Nedbank Cup will give them the kick start they need to perform in the PSL.

Swallows have played two 1-1 draws with Ajax Cape Town and the University of Pretoria respectively this year, and Tsutsulupa is not happy with these performances as it leaves the Soweto club 12th on the Premier Soccer League table.

The midfielder believes victory against SuperSport United, their opponents in the last-32 on Saturday, will boost their fortitude for league and cup glory.

"This is a must-win game so there'll be no holding back. We will go all out and make sure we get to the next round," the skipper told Football411.

"I think it's important for us to win so that we start winning in the league, too. A win against SuperSport will boost our self-belief and we can take this to the league as well.

"We are out of the title race and we not even thinking of relegation, our aim is to get in to the top eight to defend our title," he said of the MTN8 trophy they won earlier this season at the expense of Matsatsantsa.

"Like us, they are not doing too well in the league but cup games can boost a team. We know they will want revenge for beating them earlier this year so there is lots of motivation for them too."

"They're a good team and should not be struggling like they are (in the league) but I won't complain if they struggle against us," he said with a chuckle.

Kick off on Saturday is at 6pm at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
