The 30-year-old, who scored four goals in the 5-0 win over Comoros' Djabal FC in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League, reflected on his stay so far at Bucs in a recent chat with Football411.

"I feel happy that I have been given a chance by Pirates, but at the moment my only concern is that I haven't been able to be consistent so there is a lot of work to be done before I'm completely happy. But I must say things are better than I expected," Chinyama admitted.

"The positive for me is that I feel I'm very familiar now with everything at the club and I can only get better from here."

Meanwhile, Chinyama, who played in Africa with Zimbabwe's Dynamos, firmly believes that the 1995 CAF Champions League winners are capable of putting South African football on the map once again.

"I have been to Africa with Dynamos and I know exactly what it takes to win there," he added.

"Away games are never easy in Africa and that's why it was very important for us that we beat Djabal by a heavy score.

"That's the way to do it in Africa, because when you visit them they are not gonna be nice to you.

"So in Africa you must accept that and the way I look at is that this team (Pirates) is ready to compete with the rest of Africa.

"I think we have a team that can go all the way, but the understanding among the players is that we must take it one game at a time."
