It was a 12th draw for Matsatsantsa this season that saw them remain in 10th place as Usuthu moved into 15th place.
SuperSport were first to create a goalscoring opportunity, after nine minutes but AmaZulu keeper Tapuwa Kapini denied Sameegh Doutie before Simbarashe Sithole sent the rebound straight at the stopper - this after an error by Carlington Nyadombo.
Njabulo Manqana then wasted a free-kick from the edge of the area before AmaZulu had a penalty appeal turned down after Franklin Cale appeared to foul Ayanda Dlamini in the box.
Ronwen Williams had to be alert to keep out a Thokozani Mshengu cross-shot while Edwin Gyimah saw his angled shot well blocked by Kapini.
At the start of the second half Tamsanqa Teyise drilled a free-kick against the left upright as Bradley Grobler headed wide from a Sithole cross.
Cale then forced Kapini to make a good low save before Dlamini set up Goodman Dlamini but he failed to get his shot on target.
Kapini tipped away a 68th Sithole effort while Cale hit a free-kick against the crossbar for the last meaningful action of the match.
