Mngqithi: Satisfied with performance

Golden Arrows coach Manqoba Mngqithi felt his side could have maybe taken more from their clash at Mamelodi Sundowns on Tuesday, but was happy enough with a point following the 1-1 draw.

Abafana Bes'thende scored both goals on the night, Thamsanqa Gabuza putting the visitors ahead only for Siphamandla Sithole to inadvertently put the ball past his own goalkeeper to hand the Brazilians a draw.

The result saw Arrows move four points clear of the relegation zone, and left Mngqithi feeling positive about the performance.

"I knew Sundowns were going to come at us, coming down the wings, but with ball possession we knew we stood a chance to find something," the coach said after the Loftus Stadium encounter.

"Unfortunately we could not take all our chances, but I believed we compressed the space well and they (Sundowns) could not play the game they wanted to. My goalkeeper did a superb job.

"It's a very worthwhile point, although I would have loved all three points," he concluded.
