The veteran frontman signalled his return to fitness with an equalising goal against Ajax Cape Town last week to earn an away point for the Dube Birds.
Excited to be back, the Bafana Bafana striker is now keen to build on his first 90 minutes after a lengthy injury layoff.
"In the box sometimes you have to close your ears, you can't pass in the box; so I closed my ears and took the shot," the 35-year old told the club's official website.
"It's a good feeling to be back. The best part of it all is to finally join the guys on the pitch again.
"I played 90 minutes in a friendly match and this was my second time [against Ajax]. I just have to continue to work hard and I will be back up there," he added.
"Judging from my performance I think that I'm almost back to my best. I'm almost there."
Nomvethe's next chance to impress will be on Wednesday when Swallows travel to the Tuks Stadium to face the University of Pretoria.
