Ng'ambi: Has title ambitions

Platinum Stars midfielder Robert Ng'ambi believes it is not too far-fetched an idea to have Dikwena lift the Premiership trophy at the end of the season.

At the beginning of the 2012/13 campaign, Dinaledi were expected to be fighting it out for a top-eight berth.

But after an impressive start to the season, Cavin Johnson's men now have a realistic chance of challenging for the PSL title.

Saturday's emphatic 3-0 win over Ajax Cape Town has left Stars sitting comfortably in third place, two points less than PSL leaders Kaizer Chiefs and tied with second-placed Orlando Pirates, who are ahead on goal-difference.

"The players believe we have got a chance. We have good players, a good team spirit and we look solid," N'gambi told the PSL's official website.

"I've been saying all along that it's not impossible to win the title. It's very hard but we have got a chance."

He added: "The pressure is on them (Pirates and Chiefs) and not us. If you look at their squads, they are expected to be there and win it.

"Both of these teams are red hot favourites. We are hanging in there. The key is keeping our feet on the ground and keep working hard. We can play with a smile on our faces.

"We have all been through times when you are struggling at the bottom and trying to get a point to stay in the league. That is pressure."

Dikwena travel to Soweto on Wednesday for their top-of-the-table clash with Pirates, and N'gambi understands the risk of being over-confident despite Stars' good form.

"I say we can win the title and then we get smashed on Wednesday I look stupid. I won't put that pressure on us," the Malawi international added.

"We as players take it one game at a time and don't look any further than Wednesday night's match. I know we are up there at the moment, but we can lose this good run if we get carried away.

"Pirates will be difficult to beat. We've got take each one as it comes. I know it's a cliche but that's where we are at."
