Masibusane Zongo opened the scoring in the 37th minute with Welcome Qalanto doubling the home side's lead two minutes before the half-time break.

And despite David Zulu pulling a goal back for Leopards with 66 minutes played, Chippa reasserted their dominance as Petrus Ngebo fired home a third with just four minutes of the match remaining.

The result saw new coach Wilfred Mugeyi's side move up to 14th in the Premier Soccer League standings with 16 points, ahead of both Ajax Cape Town and AmaZulu on goal difference.

Chances were limited for both sides in the searing Cape Town heat with Zongo showing his class with an early effort that flew narrowly over the target.

Leopards' Joshua Obaje then saw his 15th minute effort from a tight angle sail just past the post.

Zongo continued to pepper Lidoda Duvha's goal, but was rather wayward as a number of his attempts went well wide of the target, until he finally got one right as he cut in from the right and curled beautiful a shot into the far corner of the net.

Qalanto then timed his run to perfection soon after to head home a Brent Carelse cross to give the hosts a commanding first-half lead.

Chippa came out hungry for more goals in the second period with Zongo seeing another goalbound effort well saved by Azwindini Maphaha.

A number of substitutions for Leopards saw them improve immeasurably and they were rewarded with a goal as substitute Raymond Monama set Obaje through on goal, who then squared the ball for fellow substitute Zulu to slot home.

Chippa introduced Petrus Ngebo and the striker made an immediate impact with a couple of half chances before his diving header from close range secured all three points for the Chilli Boys.
