The partnership with Louis Botha Technical High School (THS) is a first for a Premier Soccer League (PSL) club and although there are a few PSL clubs that endorse school tournaments, there is no specific affiliation.

According to Celtic's official website, the club has provided the school with training kit, they will give bursaries for selected players and a select few will get the chance to train with the first team.

"We felt that for quite a few years Louis Botha High has been, as far as school soccer goes, the benchmark. The school seem to focus and concentrate a lot on soccer. I think quite a few players have come out of this institution," said Celtic Technical Advisor Mich D'Avray.

"We formed a partnership with them whereby we will be the custodians of football in the school. Obviously, it is the partnership that will benefit both ways. It will enable us to bring in players from the school into our U-19 development side. We will also give bursaries to some of their pupils if possible."

According to the website of the school, their first team won three national titles, the Coca-Cola under-18 trophy as well as the under-16 Metropolitan Cup.

Johannes Cronje, head of sports at Louis Botha, said: "We feel that it is a very good thing to have a partnership with a renowned brand like Bloemfontein Celtic. This represents an excellent opportunity for our learners who want to play football professionally for Celtic. It is a mutually beneficial partnership that we hope will last forever."
