Usuthu are currently propping up the Premiership table after managing just two wins after the first 16 matches of the campaign, leaving them as one of the likely canditates to suffer the drop this term.

Vilakazi, though, believes the festive and Africa Cup of Nations-induced break has given the Durban side the time they need to work out their kinks, and is expecting a rejuvenated side come the restart of the season.

"We've been working very hard and I feel that we are on the same page tactically and mentally," he told the club's official website. "The whole team is in a good physical condition and the spirit is very high within the group.

"Everyone is hungry and we are all looking forward to helping the team to move up from our current position at the bottom of the table."

AmaZulu will resume hostilities against Maritzburg United at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on February 12.
