General Manager, Peter O'Connor confirmed the new developments in the former FC Cape Town man's career.

"Josef approached the club with the request to terminate his contract with immediate effect and we agreed to it.

"We wish him well in his career," said O'Connor.

Lekata who has also played for Black Leopards and Bay United FC has had limited game time with Usuthu this season since joining the KZN side towards the end of the 2011/12 season.

Lekata's departure is the second in the 1932 old club since the transfer window opened. Defender, Prince Hlela joined SuperSport United on a six month loan deal last week. Right-wing youngster, Donovan Thompson is currently trialing at NFD side Mpumalanga Black Aces.

Midfielder Njabulo Manqana is coach Craig Rosslee's only signing to date.
