Both sides are playing at alternative home venues due to the stricter standards set by the league.

Chippa are currently playing the majority of their home matches at the Athlone Stadium, although they have made a few appearances for afternoon matches at the Philippi Stadium.

It was in Philippi, an area located in the heart of the Cape flats and closest to the club's support base, that the Chilli Boys made their way up the South African soccer ladder; from the third tier to the Absa Premiership within the space of two years.

Constant references were made to the team's 'slaughterhouse', but Chippa lost a degree of their home advantage when they were forced by the PSL to play most of their games (night matches and the bigger fixtures) at Athlone, which is some distance from Philippi.

But club owner Siviwe Mpengesi has paid for new floodlights to be installed at Phillipi in the hope that the team can switch back to their original home turf on a regular basis.

Black Leopards are in a similar predicament. Lidoda Duvha are playing their football at the Peter Mokaba in Polokwane as their usual home venue in Thohoyandou has fallen into disrepair.

They are hoping to shift to Giyani; the smaller ground likely to make for a better atmosphere for a team which has the worst home record in the league.
