Gould has been out since the end of August when he tore his Achilles tendon during a training session at Naturena.

The Bafana Bafana centre-back will not make it back in time for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, but coach Stuart Baxter has stated the former SuperSport United defender is targeting a comeback against Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Stadium on February 12, 2013.

Amakhosi have not missed Gould too much - Chiefs have the second best defensive record in the league and head the Premiership standings.

Former Wits defender Tefu Mashamaite and the towering Erick Mathoho, formerly of Bloemfontein Celtic, have established a formidable partnership in Gould's absence, although Mathoho could also now miss out on playing at the Nations Cup, having sustained a knee injury recently.
