Prince Nxumalo fired home in first-half injury time, while Costa Viana Wanderson levelled things up for the Mother City side after 73 minutes.

However, one minute before the 90 the Tshwane giants snatched the win, Franklin Cale doing the damage to leave Ajax in a world of relegation worries.

The Urban Warriors created their first chance after 10 minutes, although Khama Billiat could only fire wide from 20-yards, while Sameegh Doutie was desperately unlucky not to hand Matsatsantsa the lead as his shot after 20 minutes crashed off the woodwork.

With just moments remaining in the first 45 Gavin Hunt's men stole the lead, Sibusiso Zuma feeding the ball through for Nxumalo who put his effort into the back of the net from just a few yards out.

Jan Pruijn's side looked to have earned themselves a valuable point as Brazilian starlet Wanderson came up with the goods, slotting home a decent effort with just 17 minutes remaining.

It wasn't to be though as with one minute of normal time to go the hosts regained the lead as Cale fired home from the centre of the area to wrap up the three points.

The result saw SuperSport end the year in eighth with 20 points from their opening 16 league matches, while Ajax are just two points above the relegation zone.
