Matsatsantsa come into this match fresh off a 1-0 defeat to third-placed Platinum Stars, and have won only once in their last 11 matches.

United coach Gavin Hunt believes his struggling side, now in ninth place on the table, will have to put things right in Polokwane against the Cape visitors.

"Ajax is always a tough opponent and we're expecting nothing less on Wednesday," Hunt said ahead of the midweek clash.

"We have been struggling and it's something we will look to put right at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

"Hopefully we can get the points and take that momentum with us into the break, but for us to do that, we need to be sharp."

Davis Nkausu, Lucas Thwala, Sibusiso Zuma, Nathan Paulse and Sameehg Doutie are all walking the suspension tight-rope with three yellow cards each.

Ajax, on the other hand, are hovering just above the relegation zone in 13th place with 15 points from 15 matches.

The Urban Warriors have also won just thrice in their last 11 games, and have lost five more games than their midweek opponents in that stretch.

The Mother City outfit will have to cope without Mosa Lebusa, who was handed his fourth yellow card against Golden Arrows last week.

Matthew Booth and Thulani Hlatshwayo are also injury concerns for the trip.

However, interim coach Jan Pruijn is hoping for an early Christmas present with a win over their Tshwane hosts.

"SuperSport is three days after [Golden Arrows] and again, it is a game in Polokwane, and the fact towards it is that we have never won a game in Polokwane," cited the Dutchman.

"This is what I said to the boys before the [Kaizer] Chiefs game two weeks ago. The day is coming closer, in Polokwane, that we will at least get one or maybe three points.

"I hope, because it is the last game of this year, but I think we will get something that will be a very nice Christmas present."
