Marques: Job on the line

Marques: Job on the line

Swallows have lost their last five consecutive PSL games and are just two points adrift of the relegation zone.

The only thing which appears to be keeping Marques in his job is the fact he guided the Dube Birds to MTN8 glory earlier this season.

But a loss to Stars could be the final straw for chairman Leon Prins, who gave the Portuguese tactician a two-match ultimatum before the 2-1 defeat to Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday.

Meanwhile, third-placed Dikwena have been rewarded for their consistent performances with the R1.5million Q-Innovation prize money for this quarter.

Cavin Johnson's men are buzzing with confidence, sitting only one point behind leaders Kaizer Chiefs in the PSL standings, although they host AmaZulu 24 hours earlier.

Solomon Mathe, Benson Mhlongo, Henrico Botes, Sibusiso Msomi and Enocent Khabela are all one yellow card away from a suspension for Stars, while Felix Obada is one booking away from a ban for Swallows.
