Amakhosi were unable to regain their three-point lead at the top after being held to a 1-1 draw by the University of Pretoria on Saturday at FNB Stadium.

Chiefs, who've won nine of 15 matches played already this season, now have a meagre one-point lead over Orlando Pirates (second) and Platinum Stars (third).

Ahead of their midweek clash, the Glamour Boys are yet to learn of the full extent of the injury sustained by Bernard Parker against AmaTuks.

The Bafana Bafana striker was stretchered off towards the end of the match with Chiefs boss Stuart Baxter having speculated he had suffered ankle ligament damage.

Otherwise, Baxter has new injury or suspension concerns to contend with.

Meanwhile, last-placed Usuthu make the trip up north on the back of a 1-1 draw at fellow strugglers Chippa United over the weekend.

It was the Durban outfit's third consecutive league draw by the same scoreline, with new coach Craig Rosslee yet to taste victory since taking charge.

Following his side's stalemate in Philippi, Rosslee was frustratingly accepting of just a point from the encounter, saying: "The game could've gone either way. We had our chances, they also had some chances.

"Of course we didn't want another draw but it's been two away games and a tough game against Wits.

"We hoped to bank a win, but we obviously have to go to Kaizer Chiefs and look for that result."
