Cavin Johnson says Platinum Stars winning the R1.5million Q-Innovation prize money for this quarter is just a bonus for his hard-working side.

Dikwena finished top of the Q-2 table with Saturday's 1-0 win at Supersport United.

The weekend's result also left the Rustenburg outfit in third place on the PSL table.

"Winning the Q-2 is just a bonus for us because we are right where we wanted to be, and that is the Top-8," Johnson told Football411.

"We are working on a five-year plan that started in 2010 and everything that is happening is just continuity. It is what we want to do. We want to play good football and build a good, structured brand for North West.

"When we started this, we expected to be somewhere and this season, we thought it was the right time to be in the top-8 and we're in it.

"When all of this was structured the Q-Innovations was not implemented, so we take this achievement as a bonus."

He also believes Dinaledi's decision to lure Vuyo Mere and Benson Mhlongo to the club will pay dividends in the long run.

Johnson added: "When making signings you got to be positive. When we made enquiries about them, I knew what they can offer having worked with them in Gordon Igesund's championship winning Sundowns season.

"Their experience is valuable and they also share a lot of advices with the younger teammates."

Meanwhile, the 54-year-old is also hoping his team doesn't lose any momentum following the upcoming festive break.

"Going into the Christmas break, I comprehend that this can either make or break us," he claimed.

"It can be good because it can allow our injured players time to recover because we will need them for the physical demands of the second round. And it can be bad for it can break the team's momentum."

As for Stars' Premiership title ambitions, Johnson reckons he isn't even contemplating it, saying: "Winning the league is something that we are not even dreaming about because it is not part of the goal."
