The Bafana Bafana striker was stretchered off towards the end of the match with Amakhosi coach Stuart Baxter speculating he had suffered ankle ligament damage.

And with the 2013 Africa Nations Cup just around the corner, it is feared the 26-year-old will not recover in time to feature in the tournament to be held on home soil.

After the game, Baxter said: "Bernard's (injury) is quite a nasty one. He twisted his ankle as he got kicked and he landed, and I think it's maybe ligament damage."

Parker has been in impressive form for Chiefs this season, notching up eight goals already.

He has also been included in Gordon Igesund's squad to play Malawi in Durban on December 22.

The Bafana boss will hope the prognosis on Parker's injury is not too serious with his final squad announcement set for December 30.
