Abafana Bes'thende looked to have turned the corner after firing two unanswered goals past Moroka Swallows at the beginning of December.

But they hit the self-destruct button last time out as they surrendered a 4-2 lead to eventually lose 6-4 to Platinum Stars.

That result left the Lamontville side 14th in the standings, just two points above the relegation zone with 14 PSL matches played.

The Urban Warriors, meanwhile, also find themselves battling against a place in the bottom-two, although Jan Pruijn's men did their woes a world of good as they saw off title-hopefuls Maritzburg United last Friday.

The win took the Mother City outfit to 11th in the standings, although they sit just two points ahead of their upcoming opponents.

Looking back on their most recent win, Pruijn warned his side against complacency, telling Backpage TXT: "It is all history and if we are thinking too much about this result we are already one step behind Arrows.

"I think we must keep everything focused and down to earth - we have a big chance to get three points over them."
