Free State Stars' push towards the top of the Premiership standings would be boosted with a win away to Black Leopards at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

Ea Lla Koto are currently in sixth position, 10 points off the top of the table, and have been in decent form of late with seven points from their last three matches.

Meanwhile, Lidoda Duvha have failed this season to make home ground advantage count, winning only once on their own turf.

The Limpopo side are in 10th place on the table, just five points above 16th-placed AmaZulu.

But while Leopards lost 1-0 at Mamelodi Sundowns last weekend, their previous two games yielded a 1-1 draw with Usuthu and a 2-1 win over the University of Pretoria.

Not sensational form, but reason enough for coach Ian Palmer to claim this week that the team can push for a top-eight finish.

He is, however, expecting a tough match against Stars, telling SuperSport: "Free State Stars are never easy and our home record is not good and we are playing them at home and then we meet Celtic, who are in good form too.

"There are certainly problems we have to still iron out, in terms of creating and finishing chances and defending better. There is quite a bit of work ahead of us."

Last season, Stars had the upper-hand over Leopards, winning away and securing a point at home.

But they will not be taking anything for granted, says midfielder Enva Esterhuyzen.

"It will not be a walk in the park beating Leopards, they are unpredictable and they have few good players who can course trouble if not closely monitored," he added.

Steve Komphela's side will be without injured duo Katlego Mashego and Soriola Gege, while neither team has any suspensions.
