Downs handed Pitso Mosimane his first win last Sunday since taking charge, Katlego Mphela's strike at Lucas Moripe Stadium enough to beat Black Leopards 1-0.

The home win left the Brazilians 13th in the table and tied on 14 points with Moroka Swallows, who are in action at Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday.

The Chloorkop outfit will fancy their chances at Bidvest Stadium, Wits having last won in the Premier Soccer League on November 6.

The seventh-placed Students are on a five-game winless run and could only manage a 1-1 draw at AmaZulu last time out.

In team news, Mosimane has his hands full in terms of injury concerns with Doctor Mampuru (ankle), Teko Modise (hamstring) and Samuel Julies (toe) all on the recovery table.

Abel Mabaso and Jabulani Shongwe are the likely replacements for Mampuru and Modise should the duo be ruled out of action for the weekend's trip.

Punch Masenamela and Lebohang Mokoena are already sidelined for a spell following respective knee and hip operations.

Mosimane has even admitted he may consider starting with one of either transfer-listed defenders Sibusiso Khumalo or Wandisile Letlabika.

"I just want to see the two defenders and give them a fair chance to impress and possibly earn themselves a place in the team," he told Downs' official website.

"Sbu has a chance, because we are quite thin in the left back position"

"Punch Masenamela's injury lay-off means that we only have Tebogo Langerman as cover at left back.

"Fortunately in the right back position we have Abel Mabaso and Siyabonga Ngubane as cover, but Letlabika also deserves a chance in the team."

For Wits, it will be a reunion of sorts for several players, along with coach Antonio Lopez Habas.

Habas once coached Downs, while Mbulelo Mabizela, James Mayinga, Jackson Mabokgwane and Matthew Pattison donned the famous yellow and blue.

Robin Ngalande was also once in the youth set-up at Chloorkop.

The Students have reported now major injuries for Saturday's clash, but will have to do without the services of Papy Faty due to suspension.
