The Team of Choice have impressed this season, and currently occupy fourth place in the PSL standings despite a couple of recent defeats.

They come up against Orlando Pirates at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Friday night, and Morton is keen to put one over his former employers.

"We want to get over those losses as soon as possible and I think the game against a big team like Pirates is the perfect opportunity," he told Football411.

"The last two matches were a bit disappointing but we know we are capable of playing well, if anything those defeats have got the boys more fired up and ready to go."

In the corresponding fixture against the Sea Robbers last term, it was Maritzburg who came out on top, winning by two goals to one at the Harry Gwala Stadium.

And even with this fixture taking place in Port Elizabeth, Morton is confident of a similar result.

He said: ''We do not fear Pirates, we have a decent record against them. We really don't care what they have to offer we are just worried about what we need to do.

"Playing in P.E. cannot be compared to playing in front of our fans at Harry Gwala but we feel comfortable here nonetheless. We have got a couple of handy results here and we looking forward to Friday evening."

Morton, a graduate of Pirates' development academy, says he relishes playing against his former club.

He spent three years at Parktown, but failed to crack a chance at first-team football before moving to Bidvest Wits on loan.

The 23-year-old argues, however, that he has nothing to prove to the Buccaneers.

''It's been three years since I was affiliated with Pirates, I don't have to prove anything. I have also worked with Roger De Sa so they know what I am about," he concluded.
