The former Bidvest Wits mentor arrived in Parktown early in September tasked with steadying the ship after a poor start, and after 11 league matches in charge - seven wins, three draws and one loss - De Sa says he settled into the job.
"After three months in charge, I think I have found my feet. I know what's going on at Pirates and I know my players pretty well," he told this site.
The Maputo-born coach also dropped a hint that he may go into the market in the January transfer window to bolster his squad.
"I'm looking forward to the second half of the season to give me a chance to have pre-season with the team, because I was not here at the beginning of the season. The Africa Cup of Nations break will give me a chance to work on the team," De Sa said.
"It is just that the current players were there when I arrived so I didn't have any influence whatsoever on who was signed, so it is an inherited team really.
"So hopefully in the window there will be one or two players who will be of my liking. But so far so good and I'm comfortable with the work we have done."
Meanwhile, Pirates are due to play Maritzburg United on Friday at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, and the 48-year-old is fully aware Bucs have a difficult match on their hands.
"It is always difficult to play against Maritzburg United and maybe a little easier this time around because it is a neutral ground," he said.
"They have had a good season, but it is important for us to win every game we play."
