The Buccaneers were unable to reel themselves back to within a point of PSL leaders Kaizer Chiefs as they failed to break down the struggling Chilli Boys, who took a valuable point away from Wednesday's Athlone Stadium encounter.
Jele, who had been sidelined with a horrific leg injury, came through the full 90 minutes against the Cape side, and while he was pleased to be back in the mix, he was left ruing some of his side's missed chances.
"I'm happy to be playing again," he told Bucs' official website. "It has been a long time coming, hopefully I can build on this performance and continue my march back to full match fitness."
Jele had suffered an injury scare in the opening minutes of the midweek tie after colliding with a United player, but he insists he cannot worry about picking up more injuries, as they would distract from his job as a defender.
"Obviously, after suffering an injury that I have suffered one would think twice before going into tackles but since I am a defender, this is something I need to do," he added.
"When I get into tackles I do not really think much about getting injured but of course, in the back of your mind you will still have that little doubt of the injury, but playing more matches will help rid those thoughts.
"As for the result is concerned, I really wish I could have celebrated my first full match with a victory but instead we got a draw, which is not good for us. However, we have no option but to soldier on and focus on the match on Saturday."
