The Buccaneers have re-ignited their PSL title defence after winning all of their previous four Premiership ties to climb within one point of leaders Kaizer Chiefs.
The Ghost will next watch on as Pirates travel to Cape Town to take on a struggling Chilli Boys outfit, but Matlaba, who scored a scorching goal against Bidvest Wits last time out, says they will not be taking the newly promoted side lightly.
"We are determined to keep our winning momentum, but we also know how tough it will be to break Chippa United. They are playing good football and we will give them the respect they deserve," Matlaba told his club's official website.
Looking back on their impressive run recently, which has seen the side take the scalps of the Students, Black Leopards, Free State Stars and Mamelodi Sundowns, Matlaba believes it is the team's cohesion propelling the results.
"Competition at training is rife, everybody wants to play and that, I think, is the reason why we have been doing well lately. There is no sign of complacency in the guys. We are hungry to continue registering the good results," he added.
