The Buccaneers won the game 1-0 to move a point behind league leaders Kaizer Chiefs but with the Soweto derby against Amakhosi coming up, on December 8, it has emerged that both Siyabonga Sangweni and Sifiso Myeni picked up deliberate bookings.
The duo received cautions for time wasting late on in the match. This resulted in a fourth yellow card of the season for both players which means they will be suspended for the match against Chippa, but available for the Soweto derby.
Although such actions are not prohibited by the Premier Soccer League or South African Football Association, it is still frowned upon in the world of football.
Real Madrid had previously incurred UEFA sanctions for undertaking a similar approach when Xabi Alonso and Sergio Ramos were ordered to pick up bookings in their Champions League clash against Ajax Amsterdam.
However, the Galacticos' tactics ended up back-firing when European football's governing body extended the players' one-match bans to two games.
