The shot stopper has been called in as a replacement for the injured Moeneeb Josephs, and the former South Africa Under-23 gloveman has not disappointed, conceding just once in four matches.
That form has helped the Buccaneers close the gap on PSL leaders Kaizer Chiefs to just a single point, and Meyiwa is hoping to continue his run as Pirates look to retain their Premiership crown.
"Personally I am glad with my form," he told his club's official website. "I haven't been playing for some time and I thought it would take me a long time to adjust, however, since starting against (Mamelodi) Sundowns everything has just worked out for me, and let it continue.
"The most important thing, however, has been the way we have been winning.
"Don't get me wrong, I am delighted with the clean sheets, but my number one priority is to see the team winning and collecting the three points."
The keeper also had special mention for the impact Bucs captain Lucky Lekgwathi makes on the team, adding: "Lucky has been in the game for a long time and he helps us keep calm when it gets tough.
"His experience at the back has been quite helpful to me in particular, and I thank him for the support."
