Baxter: Not getting carried away

Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter is very much aware of the danger his side faces in their trip to play Platinum Stars in Rustenburg on Saturday.

In seasons past, a game against Dikwena would generally be counted as three points in the bag.

But under Cavin Johnson, the club representing the Bafokeng nation are a side on the up, currently occupying fourth place on the PSL table.

Stars' five match winning streak came to an end on Tuesday when they lost 2-1 to Chippa United, while AmaKhosi secured a last gasp win over Moroka Swallows.

One of Baxter's strengths appears to be his level-headedness and his calm manner, so it's no surprise the Englishman is approaching the weekend's game with some degree of caution.

"We are not reading too much into the result on Tuesday. We are preparing here for a very tough game against a top team. We need to be at our best on Saturday to bring maximum points to Naturena," Baxter told Chiefs' website.

"We were back in training this morning. I had an opportunity to talk to the players about the game against Moroka Swallows. We are of course addressing the lapses of concentration at the back.

"It is very important that we control our games. The game against Swallows became more of an end to end stuff and you do not want that to happen. We need to be in control."
