The 23-year-old switched allegiances at the beginning of the season, leaving the Urban Warriors for the Chilli Boys on a season-long loan deal.
The two Mother City sides will now clash at the Cape Town Stadium and Alexander is hoping his new side can maintain their current run, which has seen them go undefeated in their last three PSL matches.
"We are very excited about the game against Ajax. We have trained well and we are doing well," he told Backpage TXT.
"We are unbeaten in three games which is good so far, so our confidence is building. It is just for us to carry it out onto the pitch."
Alexander had struggled to hold down a starting role with Ajax, resulting in his temporary switch to Chippa and previous loan stay with Vasco da Gama, and he says he is eager to get back to business after missing United's past few games with a chest infection.
"Everyone is all amped as it's the first derby and they want to get a good result. It is going to be nice getting to play my old teammates. Hopefully I get a chance to play," he added.
