Ajax Cape Town midfielder Granwald Scott believes his decision to step down as club captain has vastly improved his game.

The 24-year-old raised a few eyebrows with his decision to relinquish the skipper's armband last month, with Nazeer Allie since being handed the Urban Warriors captaincy.
Scott claimed the pressure of leading the team had detracted his focus from his performances on the field, and says he now feels more freedom in the middle of the park.
"From a personal perspective, a lot has changed; I'm playing as a number-10 now which is a free-role. I'm working hard every day to improve, after playing so long as a defensive midfielder I am still in defensive mode but a lot of people are saying I have improved," he told Football411.
"This can only mean that I was putting too much pressure on myself while I was captain. Nevertheless, I'm grateful, I'm still young, have learnt a lot and I'm still vice-captain, which means I can be captain again in the future.
"I've already scored one goal, came close on a few occasions. It takes time but I can say that I'm happy with the change."
However, the playmaker is doubtful for Friday evening's Mother City derby against Chippa United after a suspected hamstring injury.
He said: "The coach will select from the fit squad. I know Shabba (Nhlanhla Shabalala) is injured from the Wits game, I also hurt my hamstring."
Looking towards this weekend's clash, Scott is wary of their opponents' knowledge of his side, given the fact so many former Ajax players now ply their trade with the Chilli Boys.
"They have players who really know us; Brent (Carelse) , Cole (Alexander), Mfundo (Shumana) and those are the guys who were here and were told they were not good enough which is why they are not here. So they have a point to prove to Ajax," he added.
"We have been down this road before, we've played in a derby and we have been here longer, so they are more concerned about us."
Kick-off on Friday is at 20h: 00 at the Cape Town Stadium.
