The loss saw Dikwena's run of five straight wins come to an end, leaving them in fourth spot on the table, while Chippa moved up to 12th.

It is perhaps Johnson's friendly demeanour and good nature that has helped to create a great team spirit at Stars, and their subsequent good form.

The former Sundowns and Ajax youth coach took is putting the loss into perspective and clearly enjoyed the interaction with journalists during and after Tuesday night's press conference.

He accepted that not every game can be won and did not have any words of criticism for his players.

"I believe in playing good football and when you play good football you get good results and along the way you have got to lose some and win some," he said.

"I prepared them well, we were going to lose sometime, it was how we were going to lose. Today we lost because we never took our chances, we didn't play bad football and that is the plus for me.

"Its the way you lose, if we lost like we did to Ajax three months ago (4-1) then maybe I would have been upset, but I'm ok with it."

Johnson insists that his job at the North West side goes beyond just getting results.

"We would like to have taken a point or all three. But we have a longer vision for the team and that is to play good football.

"That is when you can see the talent in South Africa. The minute you are at the bottom it becomes a dog fight and you are trying to grind out results. We have to lose sometime, we lost tonight. Going forward we keep trying to play good football."
