Phunya Sele Sele set up a Ziwa Mo final date against Mamelodi Sundowns after overcoming Ea Lla Koto 3-2 after extra-time in Sunday's last-four clash in Polokwane.
"Against Stars we were always ahead, but we made it hard for ourselves by allowing them back into the game," he said in the post-match interview.
"But in the end we pulled through and the guys in the dressing room afterwards were so happy. This means a lot to us, we are desperate to lift a major trophy because its been some time since we last won anything."
Nthethe was also responsible for a stunning last-ditch challenge to deny Stars a penalty shootout, and he said it was just something that needed to be done.
"I knew I just had to get something on the ball, I didn't know what would happen, but I could see that they were about to score, so I just threw my body on the line and fortunately the ball deflected away from goal," he added.
