Matsatsantsa progressed to the semi-finals of the competition after goals from Thabiso Nkoana and Sibusiso Zuma earned them a 2-0 win at the Harry Gwala Stadium.

Nkoana broke the deadlock on 73 minutes, before Zuma doubled their advantage four minutes later, although some sloppy defence from The Team of Choice played a hand in both strikes.

Nevertheless, Middendorp admitted his men were second-best on the night, and has urged them to focus their attention back on their PSL obligations.

"SuperSport completely deserved the win," the German tactician revealed in his post-match summation.

"The first goal came from a mistake in the build-up and if you mistake against a team like SuperSport, you can't do anything.

"We did not have our confidence in passing in the first half.

"Now we have just five days time until our next league game against Bloemfontein [Celtic] and we must work harder to make sure we do a better job."
