The 25-year-old, who scored 14 goals in all competitions last season for Free State Stars, arrived in Chloorkop before the start of the campaign amid much fanfare.
However, he has only managed one goal for the Brazilians this term as they sit in the PSL relegation zone after eight matches.
The Randfontein-born striker got off the mark on debut in a 4-1 win over Kaizer Chiefs in the MTN8 quarter-finals in early August, but he has since found the going tough in front of goals.
He told Football411: "It is a sad time for me, because I can't seem to score the goals. As much as it is about team work, the pressure does get to you as a striker because you are expected to get the goals.
"I will have to get my head up and I know somewhere down the line the goals will come. It is my wish to be in the same goal scoring form I was in during my days at Free State Stars."
Sundowns will take on Amazulu on Saturday in the Telkom Knockout quarter-finals, and Manqele says it is a must win clash for the Tshwane side.
"We have been working very hard and we are well prepared for Saturday," he added.
"We are obviously under pressure to win, but it is part of football. I do believe we have very good players and it is only a matter of time before we escape from our current situation, but we have to be better with our finishing."
