Celtic produced a dominant performance in front of their home fans, while United played catch-up football for most of this encounter. A late goal from Sibusiso Zuma proved too little, too late for the visitors.

It was actually United who looked to make the early inroads in this clash. The Pretoria based team won a corner in just the fourth minute of the match. Clifford Mulenga took it short, however, the visitors failed to create a meaningful opportunity to score.

Celtic had a corner of their own just three minutes later. Lyle Lakay also took it short. Unlike Supersport, Celtic managed to create an opportunity. However, Thabo Nthethe's header was parried away by Ronwen Williams, who ensured that SuperSport emerged from the situation unscathed.

The resultant corner was taken by Lakay again, but he failed to find a head in the 18-yard area. He had another opportunity to swing a ball into the box just two minutes later. However, he decided to take the corner short.

At this juncture, the balance of power in this match had started to shift in favour of the team from the city of roses.

Drama unfolded in the 26th minute when Mogorosi opened Bloemfontein Celtic's account. Mogorosi's right-footed strike found the bottom left corner of the goal. Gamildien deserves credit helping Mogorosi create the opportunity.

As the match progressed Celtic grew in confidence and another opportunity presented itself in the 32nd minute, as Lakay's inswinging corner forced a clearance from Mogogi Gabonamong.

Just before the half-time intermission, it was a corner from Gamildien which forced Gabonamong to make another important clearance. In the 44th minute Celtic were awarded a free-kick, which was subsequently taken by Gamildien from about 20 yards. His long range effort sailed over the cross bar.

However, the Celtic players was having a good night at the office.

The Celtic dominance continued in the second stanza and Gamildien, who had been an aggressor throughout the match, all but sealed victory with his 58th minute goal. His sterling long range effort found the bottom right corner of the goal.
