The Parisians take on Marseille this coming weekend and will be hoping the former LA Galaxy star can make an immediate impact for his new club after seeing their lead on top of Ligue 1 cut to three points.
PSG coach Carlo Ancelotti admitted the former England captain was not yet at the desired fitness levels, but could make his debut in the upcoming home game against Les Phoceens.
When quizzed before the Sochaux match about Beckham's involvement, the Italian said: "No, (Beckham will) be staying here to work, he needs more training, he'll be ready next week for the game at home to Marseille . Not necessarily to start, but to play."
The former Chelsea boss admitted Beckham will not be granted a free pass into his starting XI, but praised the qualities the 37-year-old will bring to the Paris side.
"It's up to me to decide if he starts the match or not," he said.
"[But] he can bring his experience, his quality, his professionalism, these are things that we need," he added.
