The Harambee Stars have been without a coach since June 2012 and the former Burundi and Democratic Republic of Congo coach is clearly in their sights.

If successful, Amrouche will be tasked to guide the East African's through to the 2014 World Cup Africa qualifiers. They are in Group F with Nigeria, Malawi and Namibia.

"I am very excited to becoming to Kenya a country with vast talented players with a lot of potential. I have great knowledge about Kenyan football and I believe I have the capacity to drive Harambee stars to greater heights," Amrouche said on SuperSport.

"FKF chairman Nyamweya is a reasonable man and I have seen his genuine passion for football and that is why I will be coming to discuss the possibilities available to help Harambee Stars in their World cup qualifying matches."

Kenya lost 1-0 to Namibia and drew 0-0 with Malawi and has four games to go. They face the Super eagles next on March 22nd.
