The Blues will have to overturn a two-goal deficit in their second-leg at the Liberty Stadium if they are to make the final, after two errors by Branislav Ivanovic handed the Swans a rare win at the Bridge.
But the 27-year-old insists the tie is not over yet, and that Chelsea have more than enough quality to turn it around.
"It is never over. We created enough chances to go in at half-time three-nil or four-nil up," Cahill told the Daily Star.
"And if we take those chances in the away leg and keep it tight, we will win."
The England defender admits the task facing them is a tough one, considering Swansea's form at home this season and the fact they have two away goals. The Blues will have to be at their best if they are to claim an unlikely win over the two-legs.
"It will be difficult because I've certainly found it tough when I've been to Swansea on my last three visits. I got two draws with Chelsea and lost with Bolton, so it is a difficult place to go.
The former Bolton Wanderers man claims their run in the Champions League last season will give his side confidence going into the match.
"But we showed we can turn it round when we did it against Napoli in the Champions League last season, so this team can do it - and we need to," he added.
"I think if we had taken our chances we would have won convincingly and there is no doubt we can create chances there."
