The coach has retained the majority of the group which reached the final in the 2012 edition of the African showcase competition - that lost to Zambia on penalties.

Lacina Traore (Anzhi Makhachkala, Russia) and Abdul Razak (Charlton Athletic, on-loan) have been welcomed into the fold for the first time, while Wigan Athletic's Kone Arouna makes his return to the side after a spell out of the squad.

Didier Drogba will lead the line once more, while Premier League heavyweights Yaya and Kolo Toure will also travel to South Africa in January.

The squad will prepare for the tournament in Abu Dhabi ahead of a friendly against Egypt on January 14, before flying south for the tournament kick-off on the 19th of January.
